03/8 - February 5, 2005 - Lake Palestine, TX - Central& Northeast "Double-Up"

The new team season for both Central and Northeast Teams got started at Lake Palestine on February 5th at the Villages Marina. Both divisions competed for the $16,852.00 purse but, points were awarded for each separate division standings. Makes for a nice day of meeting and seeing new fishermen and a big payout. Also, some of these teams will be matched up against each other at the Team Championships following the qualifying season.

A total of 136 teams combined to catch 182 Palestine bass weighing 429.85 lbs. Not the best day for Lake Palestine. The weather was nice, however.

At the end of the day, Tommy Jones and Rich Dalby finished on top with a limit of five bass weighing 16.27 lbs. The two took home $3,300.00 for 1st Place. Just behind the leaders was Don and Shane Mattern with 16.06 lbs. for 2nd Place and $1,650.00. 3rd Place went to Glen Irwin and Louie Pope for their catch of 11.33 lbs. worth $1,300.00. Big Bass honors went to Kenny Nail and Ricky Sipes for a 5.84 lb. bass. The Top-5 teams all earned over $1,000.00 cash prizes!
