04/27 - April 16, 2005 - Lake Livingston - Texas Deep East and Southeast Divisions "Double-Up"

Chalk up a great day at Livingston. The Deep East and Southeast Texas teams third tournament of the year battled for over $11,100.00. A total of 91 teams from both divisions participated at Lakeview Marina (936) 646-2685 on Lake Livingston April 16th.

The winners were Shon Blassingame and Bill Wilcox from the Deep East Division with five bass weighing 15.51 lbs. and took home $2,750.00.

Second place was the Southeast team of Chip and Brian Sewell with 13.34 lbs, worth $1,400.00.

Third place team of Stanton Marsh and Cullen Valles fell from second place (due to a two pound penalty for a lifejacket infraction) with a final weight of 12.68 lbs. It is to be mentioned that the team was very forward in admitting the violation (rule #7 states, "..A U.S. Coast Guard approved chest type PFD must be on and fastened anytime the combustion engine is in gear.") I really admire the honesty and integrity shown by Marsh and Valles and hope that other teams will learn from their actions. The Big Bass Award and $445.00 went to Michael Freck and David Padgett from the Deep East teams for their 5.34 lb. bass.
